Kidderminster Harriers v West Ham United

Any Whoers at this game? I remember me and 3 mates from college getting a ticket for it because we had a mate living in Coventry who we stayed with.

Awful game won with Chapman's looping header if I remember correctly. Away fans in the open terrace behind the goal. I still have my ticket stub somewhere.

Apart from the dire game all I remember was having the shits from a dodgy burger from one of those cess pit vans outside the ground but also being featured in Match magazine (me and mates holding a WHU flag)

I went to some strange places and now question why especially when results didn't go our way. Honourable mentions to Torquay Grimsby and Wrexham in the snow (Profirio)

I was there behind the goal where we scored. I was also at Notts County and the replay in the previous round.

I can’t remember which year it was but I was also at Wycombe Wanderers when we beat them at their place in the FA Cup. The Kidderminster and Wycombe matches were quite similar in lots of ways, but we won both against the wishes of the pundits and neutrals.

Yep I was there. Can't remember much of the game, but do remember being over taken and cut up by someone in a blue Renault with WHU number plate on the way up?

Yeh, I went to this. We were shit.

I remember having to queue at the ticket office from about 4am to get tickets. Some of our lads were in the queue caked in blood having come unstuck at Man City the night before.

Sold, if u remember that Barry was trying to get everyone to leave early from the Kidderminster game but know one was paying him much attention, also bumped into him at Norwich away when he attempted to head butt someone in our group as he thought he was " Norwich " the bloke was a grade a prick !

I remember sitting on the train after the game waiting to leave and a couple of young lads came down on the platform the other side of the tracks shouting this that and the other feeling brave.
The next thing a load of trackside doors fly open and people start jumping out to have a word - i've never seen anyone run so quick in my life. The bit that always sticks with me was the coppers on the train turning round and saying "now now lads, they are only farmers, leave 'em alone..."

Be fucked if I can remember the game, just remember the ticket fiasco.

Deciding to sell them the morning after Man City away was a cunt by the club, as meant all us loyal bods at that game having to put a proper shift in to get back to Upton Park to queue straight the game, as new grounds get every fucker out of the woodwork wanting to go.

Had to hammer the BM (beige metro) back from Maine Road with Keith and Bob the cap and got there about 9.30pm with a few already queuing and a pissed up maniac threatening people with a knife.

Fucking cold that night and that lucky bastard Bob (RIP mate) not having to bother as he had a bond l!!!

Still, fucking loved it back then and Barry(?) the chap with the knife was I believe stabbed not long after by Chelsea fans at a friendly at Reading.

Remember leaving the ground and walking back to the station and seeing quite a bit of trouble, police with dogs out and all sorts. Someone told us wolves had travelled down to attack west ham don't know how true that was though.
Shocking game but all the pundits were saying there was a cup upset on the cards so was satisfying to beat them.

i remember going to the Wrexham away without a ticket. Copper got hold of me outside the away end and whilst i was loitering, got right in my face and said if you didn't go in the ground now I'm going to nick you, i said i cant, he said yes you can, smiled and handed me a ticket, top man.

One of the things I recall from being at the game is a temporary seating structure. I am reminded of it on a near fortnightly basis.

Remember going to Upton Park to queue for tickets at some god forsaken time.
Also the Birmingham lot coming down to the game and trashing a pub we'd just left

Yep. Was there. Nice day out.

Love those games.

Incidentally good article in When Saturday Comes , about the demise of the Kidderminster Pie, as the family catering business that served the club he's severed ties

Welcome to the 7 pond shit burger fayre, dished up at or gaff.
